During winter 1973/74 the last bricks were produced at the brickworks Pape .
Two years later this unique industrial monument was listed.
Until production shut down machines from the 1930's were in use. The engine house is still in full function. All machines are driven via a transmission by a one cylinder 40hp engine.
The Hoffmann kiln, the drying shed and the workers dormitory are in good condition.
Approx. 25 years the owners took care for the buildings on their own. Since the chimney started to incline and some roofs broke down, financial help was necessary.
Therefore the association Förderverein "Ziegelei Pape, Bevern e.V." was founded. The aim is to preserve this monument for future generations.
